Unhappy with Front Teeth Position
Jessica came to see me because she wanted help correcting her V-shaped smile. Her upper front teeth angled inwards. This made her smile look crowded and uneven.
With an important new chapter of her life approaching, she wanted a smile that looked balanced, felt more confident and still looked completely natural.
I used Invisalign, whitening and composite bonding to create that result. Together, these treatments improved the position of her teeth and the harmony of her smile.

Looking Beyond the Front Teeth
Jessica’s main concern was the position of her upper front teeth. However, my assessment revealed a deeper underlying issue.
Jessica had a significant deep bite. Her upper teeth excessively overlapped her lower teeth. This pushed her upper front teeth inwards and limited the space needed to create a balanced smile.
Simply improving the appearance of the visible front teeth would not have addressed the underlying problem. I needed to correct the foundation first.
Creating the Right Foundation with Invisalign
I used Invisalign to gradually reposition Jessica’s teeth and improve the relationship between her upper and lower arches.
As treatment progressed, Invisalign corrected the deep bite. It moved the upper front teeth into a more natural position. It also broadened and softened Jessica’s smile.
By correcting the tooth position first, I created the ideal foundation for the final stages of treatment.
The Finishing Touches
Once Jessica completed her Invisalign treatment, I whitened her teeth to brighten her smile.
I then used SmileFast composite bonding to conservatively refine the shape and proportions of Jessica’s front teeth. These final adjustments were subtle but important, helping to create symmetry, balance and a natural-looking result.
I carefully planned every stage so each treatment complemented the next.
The Outcome
Jessica’s smile now feels balanced, confident and completely natural.
The V-shaped appearance of the upper front teeth has been replaced by a softer, broader smile that complements her facial features while still looking entirely like her own.
By combining Invisalign with conservative cosmetic dentistry, I corrected Jessica’s bite before refining her smile to address the concerns that first brought her to the practice.
Considering Correcting a V-Shaped Smile?
Many patients worry about the appearance of their front teeth without realising that their bite often influences the position of those teeth.
I always treat the underlying cause first. I then refine the final result with whitening and composite bonding to create a more natural, stable and harmonious smile.
