A Structured Invisalign Plan for a Complex Case

Cameron came to me feeling frustrated with the appearance of his lower front teeth. Two missing lower incisors had previously been replaced with composite build-ups, but the result felt bulky, difficult to clean, and uncomfortable to live with day to day.

What seemed like a simple cosmetic concern quickly revealed a more complex picture. This was not a case for quick fixes. It required careful thinking, balance, and a plan built step by step.

A Structured Invisalign Plan for a Complex Case

To create a stable and natural-looking result, we began with Invisalign to improve alignment and positioning.

Before starting aligners, I first removed the over-contoured composite restorations on Cameron’s lower front teeth. I also refined the shape of the upper central teeth to allow space for more proportionate lateral incisors. This stage is often overlooked, but it is where long-term success truly begins. This allowed me to:

  • Restore proper cleansability
  • Improve proportions
  • Create a healthier foundation for treatment

Managing Expectations with Precision

Cameron understood that while Invisalign is powerful, it has limitations – particularly when it comes to midline correction in complex cases.

By approaching treatment in stages, we focused on what could be achieved predictably, rather than chasing perfection at the cost of stability.

The Outcome: More Than Just Straight Teeth

The final result was not just cosmetic.

It was a carefully structured rebuild that improved:

  • Tooth proportions
  • Alignment and balance
  • Oral hygiene and comfort
  • Long-term stability
